Colorado In September 2018, PHMSA awarded the Colorado Oil and Gas Association (COGA) a Technical Assistance Grant to enlist a contractor to perform a comprehensive assessment of capabilities and needs of first response agencies across the State of Colorado regarding pipeline incidents and emergencies. PHMSA is continuing discussions about a PERI in Colorado with COGA and other stakeholders.

Montana Montana has developed its own PERI-like collaborative program. Through the Montana Liquid and Gas Pipeline Association, pipeline operators are engaging at the LEPC meetings to train and educate emergency responders. PHMSA outreach is complete.

California In summer 2022, a group of stakeholders began meeting to discuss a California PERI. The steering committee now meets periodically.

Oregon In July 2019, PHMSA began discussions to initiate the Oregon PERI (ORPERI). PHMSA has held several meetings with OR stakeholders to discuss the PERI concept.
