• PHMSA issued a safety advisory on the risks associated with the use of Type-A sleeves as a repair method on pipelines. The advisory provides information to pipeline operators regarding the potential for improperly installed or managed Type-A sleeves to be at an increased risk of possible corrosion or other integrity issues when used long-term.

• PHMSA Administrator Paul Roberti and Deputy Administrator Ben Kochman visited the original leak site of Sunoco’s Twin Oaks Pipeline in Upper Makefield Township. PHMSA’s leadership also visited additional locations in the surrounding area where the operator was conducting maintenance activities on the Twin Oaks Pipeline.
