Archived Rulemaking: Procedures for Transportation Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs

Under the Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act of 1991, the Department of Transportation is required to implement alcohol testing programs in various transportation industries. This rule establishes uniform testing procedures that would be used by all Department of Transportation operating administrations conducting alcohol testing programs modeled on those required by the Act. This rule also implements changes required by the statute in the Department's drug testing procedures.
