Operator compliance with the pipeline safety regulations is critical to preventing pipeline accidents and incidents. Goals of PHMSA's outreach program for the 2021 Gas Gathering Rulemaking are to expand awareness and knowledge of the 2021 Gas Gathering final rule and the new gas gathering operator requirements to PHMSA stakeholders through outreach and education by:

1. Identifying and Educating all Gas Gathering operators of the new requirements.

2. Educating PHMSA and PHMSA State partners of the new requirements for gas gathering lines.

3. Providing outreach to the Pipeline trades on the new requirements for gas gathering lines.
