Archived Rulemaking: Limitation on Alcohol Use by Transportation Workers

This document is a common preamble to five alcohol misuse prevention program final rules being published by several operating administrations (OAs) of the Department of Transportation (FAA, FHWA, FRA, FTA, and RSPA) elsewhere in today's issue of the Federal Register. Four of these rules are required by the Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act of 1991. All of them will enhance the overall safety of the transportation industry and the public.
