Archived Rulemaking: Transportation of natural and other gas by Pipeline: Corrosion control for Metal alloy fittings in plastic pipelines.
This amendment permits the use of certain metal fittings in plastic pipelines without coating, cathodic protection, and monitoring when adequate external corrosion control is provided by alloyage. The full safety and economic advantage of these fittings cannot be realized under the present rule because of the cost and burden of providing cathodic protection and frequent monitoring.
