Archived Rulemaking: Transportation of natural and other gas by Pipeline Minimum Federal Safety Standards: Modification of Pressure Relief Limitations

Document
37-fr-20826.pdf (478.31 KB)

This amendment to § 192.201 (a) changes the restriction on accidental pressure buildup in pipelines, other than low pressure distribution systems, which have a maximum allowable operating pressure (MAOP) of less than 60 p.s.i.g. On November 10, 1971, the Department issued a notice of proposed rule making in the FEDERAL REGISTER proposing these regulatory changes (OPS Notice 71-0, 36 P.R. 21834, November 16, 1971). Interested persons were afforded an opportunity
to participate in the rule making by submitting written information, views, or arguments. Several comments subsequently were received and have been given full consideration. However, the amendment is issued without substantive change from the proposal.
