Dear Mr. Stanclift:
In your letter of December 16, 1874 [sic; 1974], you ask us to define the term "business district" as used in
section 192.723(b)(1) of the Federal gas pipeline safety standards. A business district is an area
containing shops and offices where persons engage in the purchase and sale of commodities or in
related financial transactions.
In answer to your second question, you may contact the Ohio Public Utilities Commission about
any questions you may have concerning the Federal gas Pipeline safety standards. The address is
as follows:
Mr. Ralph Masselli
Ohio Public Utilities commission
11 North High Street
Columbus, OH 43215
Thank you for your interest in pipeline safety.
Sincerely
Joseph C. Caldwell
Director
Office of Pipeline Safety
