The notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) published today would incorporate by reference new, updated, or reaffirmed editions of more than 20 consensus standards into the Federal pipeline safety regulations.  This NPRM would also make non-substantive corrections to clarify regulatory language.  The minor editorial changes would not require pipeline operators to undertake new pipeline safety initiatives.  Comments on the NPRM can be submitted through March 16, 2021.
