Effective April 2, 2015 PHMSA will no longer process additional item/name requests for fireworks EX Approval applications. A change to the product name has no bearing on the safety / classification of the firework, the original classification of the firework, or regulatory compliance. It is required by PHMSA and found in the 2018 APA 87-1A, B, and C, standards, to mark the EX or FC number on the firework device or packaging if the device is to small.
