Data Visualization Overview

The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, Office of Pipeline Safety, provides some data and information in a pictorial or graphical format on selected pipeline safety topics. The goal is to provide the viewer with a qualitative understanding of the content. This site is updated as needed to reflect new developments or to include information pertinent to pipeline safety issues or topics.

National Pipeline Mapping System

PHMSA's National Pipeline Mapping System (NPMS) includes pipeline map viewers, GIS data and other information about gas transmission and hazardous liquid pipelines, LNG plants and breakout tanks.

PHMSA Pipeline Social Equity Tools

PHMSA has created four pipeline social equity mapping tools to visualize pipeline incidents in the context of disadvantaged communities, as defined by DOT in the Justice40 initiative.
