The Department of Transportation is exploring the need to adopt additional regulations for the transportation modes it regulates to prevent employees from performing sensitive safety- and security-related functions while under the influence of alcohol. This ANPRM solicits public comment on the scope of the problem, the need for additional action and the feasibility and scope of several possible options, if further action is deemed necessary.
