Gas Pipeline Advisory Committee to Discuss Proposed Rulemaking for Onshore Gas Transmission and Gathering Pipelines. The U.S. Department of Transportation's (USDOT) Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration today announced that the Gas Pipeline Advisory Committee (GPAC) will hold a public meeting in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area June 6-7, 2017, to continue discussion of topics and provisions related to the proposed rule titled "Safety of Gas Transmission and Gathering Pipelines." PHMSA's gas and liquid pipeline advisory committees are statutorily mandated and advise PHMSA on the technical feasibility, practicability, and cost-effectiveness of each proposed pipeline safety standard. PHMSA encourages public participation in the rulemaking process, and invites the public to attend and make statements during the advisory committee meetings.
