About Rulemakings

The PHMSA Office of Hazardous Materials Safety periodically issues rulemaking documents that propose or adopt changes to the regulations. You may participate in the rulemaking process by filing written comments on any rulemaking document that asks for comments, participate in a public meeting, or file a petition for rulemaking that asks us to add, amend, or delete a regulation. This section provides information and links to recently published notices of proposed rulemaking, final rules, and public meetings.
