Dear Ms. Enright:

This is in response to your letter dated March 1, 2000, requesting updated publications from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The materials you requested are not available from the U.S. Department of Transportation.  The sources listed below will enable you to obtain the materials you requested.  Your letter has also been forwarded to the Office of the Associate Administrator for Pipeline Safety since certain of the sections cited for update, 49 CFR 192.281(e) and 192.283(b), are addressed in the Pipeline Safety Regulations (49 CFR Parts 186-199).

The Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) are found in Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Parts 100-185 (revised as of October 1, 1999), which include the Hazardous Materials Table (§172.101 HMT), special provisions, hazard communication, emergency response information and training, and packaging requirements for hazardous materials, such as explosives.  The HMR are revised and
published annually.  The HMR may be obtained from the U.S. Government Bookstore and is available
at the following URL: http://hazmat.dot.gov.

The numbers, "UN 0335 and UN0336", referenced in your letter, are identification numbers
associated with hazardous material descriptions designated in the §
172.101 HMT, which is in alphabetical order by chemical or generic shipping name.  The descriptions associated with the referenced numbers are "Fireworks, 13G, UN 0335, PG 11" and "Fireworks, IAG, UN 0336, PG II".
