PHMSA Issues Corrective Action Order to Sabine Pass Liquefaction, LLC
On February 8, 2018, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) issued a Corrective Action Order (CAO) to Sabine Pass Liquefaction, LLC, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. The CAO is the result of safety concerns identified by PHMSA’s Accident and Investigations team as part of their preliminary investigation findings following the report and discovery of a release of LNG from a Sabine Pass storage tank on January 22, 2018. The findings included in PHMSA’s CAO are preliminary and PHMSA’s investigation is still ongoing.
