How to Apply

To apply for a position, you must provide a complete application package, which includes the following documents:

1. Resume;
2. Cover letter;
3. Writing Sample (Not to exceed 10 pages);
4. Proof of current and active bar association membership; and
5. Copy of law school transcripts (official or unofficial).

What to Expect Next

Once your complete application is received, we will conduct an evaluation of your qualifications. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis. You will not be notified of your status throughout the process.

Application Deadline

The application deadline for the Deputy Assistant Chief Counsel for Regulatory Affairs Law position is December 4, 2023. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis as they are submitted (even before the end application period) until the position is filled. Applications may be considered for future supervisory and non-supervisory attorney openings in this or another division of PHMSA’s Office of Chief Counsel.
