Affected Public
This primary audience is defined differently for various pipeline types. For gas transmission, hazardous liquid, and gathering pipelines, the affected public are those who live along the right-of-way and people who assemble on a regular basis on, or along, a right-of-way. These operators must provide awareness materials to both residents and people in places of congregation.
For gas distribution pipelines, the affected public is comprised of residents along the pipeline system and customers of the distribution company. Although the awareness messages are identical, gas distribution operators are expected to communicate with customers more frequently.
