Operator Self Assessments
The PSIA 2002 required all operators to evaluate their public education programs for effectiveness and modify the program as necessary. The Office of Pipeline Safety (OPS) distributed a checklist for operators to use for self assessment and collected these self assessments in December 2003. Under API RP 1162, operators must periodically evaluate the program for effectiveness, but there is no ongoing requirement to submit self assessments to OPS.
