Every 4 years, operators should assess the following measures:
- Percentage of each intended audience reached with desired messages;
- Understandability of the content of the message;
- Desired behaviors by the intended stakeholder audience;
- Achieving bottom-line results, especially third-party damage rates;
Most of these measures will be assessed by surveying the stakeholder audiences. Sample surveys are included in API RP 1162 Appendix E. If an operator evaluates effectiveness in collaboration with other operators, they must be able to show the results of the evaluation for their pipeline systems.
