2010 World Expo in Shanghai, China

The 2010 World Exposition will be held in Shanghai, China from May 1st to October 31st, 2010. The World Expo is a large-scale, global, non-commercial Expo. The World Expo aims to promote the exchange of ideas and development of the world economy, culture, and science and technology. The expo allows exhibitors to publicize and display their achievements and improve international relationships. Accordingly, the World Expo with its 150-year history is regarded as the Olympic Games of economy, science and technology.

PHMSA is working with the Chinese Ministry of Transport, the Shanghai Port Authority, the US Embassy in Beijing and the US Consulate in Shanghai to obtain all relevant information, identify any restrictions and minimize impacts to the transport of HM. As we receive information and confirm its accuracy we will post it on this website.

All information posted will be in the form of Situation Reports (SITREP) and will only include information from official sources. We welcome correspondence from carriers and shippers affected, but will only distribute information from official government sources.

The 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic games will be held in Vancouver, Canada from February 12 to February 28, 2010 and March 12 to March 21, 2010, respectively.
